Landscape takes shape

The landscape team is close to awarding the landscape contract, which includes street tree planting, soft landscaping, mulch and turf. Street trees have been ordered from Ellenby Tree Farm and Small Tree Farm and will be planted in winter 2021. They include peppermints, nut trees such as macadamia and chestnut, ornamental pears and several varieties of oaks.

Busselton based revegetation company, Tranen, has completed planting along the dam embankments of the northern and southern dam with a mixture of endemic rushes and sedges. These plantings will provide habitat for bird life and other fauna as well as creating a more natural feel to the dams. Tranen has been fantastic to work with and we look forward to them returning to site in 2021 to plant out the swales within the community gardens and streetscapes.

In the Village Square, Uralba Stone has been creating more beautiful walls and the space is really beginning to take shape. Kashmir Rouw of Uralba Stone is currently designing a sculptural stone sound shell that will provide an incredibly beautiful space for performers and the general public alike.

Jordan and I have started working on the design for future community gardens 3A and 3B, which will be released in early 2021.
