The Ecovillage Design Team is developing a range of sustainable house designs to fit each of the three main lot types: Family, Cottage and Groupie, which will be offered to buyers as House & Land Packages. As we finalise each set of house designs and costings, we will upload them to the website.

We are also liaising with a number of local builders who specialise in straw bale, hempcrete and timber frame construction (the three main structural frameworks we are advocating for use in the Ecovillage) to create a range of house designs as House & Land Package options for residents.

Alternatively, buyers can choose to design and build their own homes as owner builders or with a licensed builder provided their house designs conform to the Sustainable Building Design Guidelines. The BDGs are recommended reading for all Ecovillage residents and this document along with other essential documents are available for download from the Document Library.

Ecovillage Preferred Suppliers

The Ecovillage Design Team has spent countless hours researching and communicating with various suppliers, builders and service organisations to put together a list of recommendations to make life easier for residents starting their building journey. Our preferred suppliers are companies and individuals with whom the Ecovillage team has fostered a good working relationship. Some are longstanding, trusted partners and others are new relationships with local providers who are keen supporters of the Ecovillage and are aligned with our values.
