New Ecovillage website imminent

We had hoped to have our new Witchcliffe Ecovillage website live in time for this newsletter, but as seems to be the nature of things here at the moment, we have hit some delays.

This current website has provided inspiration and a comprehensive source of information on the project for many years now. But we decided it was time for a major revamp given that we are now entering a new phase of the project with land sales imminent, prototype house designs underway, energy and water systems being finalised, and civil construction of Stage 1 expected to commence in early 2020.

The new Ecovillage website will be our primary marketing, sales and information hub with flexible, add-on infrastructure that has been designed to evolve with the project. It will become your one stop shop for everything you need to know about the Ecovillage and interaction with the team, from downloading forms and documents from our digital library to completing land sales transactions online. We hope that all this digital interaction means a streamlined process, and importantly, less needless printing of paper documents.

A useful feature will be the interactive site plan tool, which will enable you to view the Ecovillage concept plan of the whole site, zoom into the individual Stage 1 community garden clusters 1A, 1B and 1C, and then drill down to lot level to obtain all the information you need to know about individual lots, including their sales availability.

Built from the ground up, it is a visually stunning digital platform that exploits the magnificent photography of Russell Ord who has captured the beauty, personality and feel we are hoping to emulate in the Ecovillage in the landscape, architecture and community of the site and the surrounding Margaret River region. For allowing us to photograph these inspirational places, we’d like to thank Margaret River Farmers MarketMargaret River Organic GardenGlenarty RoadSativa Sanctuary, Wade Brown (builder), Hemp Homes AustraliaWild Hop Brewery Company and Michael and Britta Sorensen (architects and designers).

New features will be added to the website as the project develops including house designs, sales transaction forms and must-read documents in the library, so ensure you check back often to find our updates.

REMINDER: Fremantle presentation cancelled

Just in case you didn’t catch the news on Facebook, we cancelled our Ecovillage presentation at the Fremantle Fibonacci Centre on 18 October. Again, it was another case of good intentions and just not enough time to get it all done properly, which is the only way we want to do it.

REMINDER: Ecovillage Open Day 2019 postponed

As by now I’m sure you are all aware, we have postponed our Ecovillage Open Day launch event until early in 2020. You can read more about this here.
