Civils nearly complete, landscape rolls on

Southern entrance all that remains of civil works

Practical Completion on Stage 5B was achieved on 1 December and the roads to Stage 4 and 5 are now fully open for public access. Civil works on the Southern Bussell Highway Intersection is all that remains now as part of the main development civil construction program. The main intersection road construction works will commence from 9 January and traffic management will need to be in place to MRWA and Shire requirements so there will be some delays for travellers heading south of Witchcliffe.

Rolling out the community gardens

Our landscape contractor, LD Total, has been powering along in the past few weeks with turf and playground areas completed in Clusters 2A and 2B. Planting will now proceed with completion expected just prior to the Christmas break. We are aiming to complete handover to the Cluster Strata in February 2023 once all handover documentation can be provided and compiled.

Cluster 3A and 3B community gardens are also well underway. The current construction program sees the majority of works completed by the end of February, but we intend to hold off planting until it cools down towards the end of April 2023. Full completion should be achieved by May 2023 with handover to the Cluster Strata scheduled for the end of June.

Clusters 1A, 1B and 1C have now also completed the 13-week consolidation period. Full operation and maintenance of the community gardens and streetscapes is now the responsibility of each Strata, and it’s been wonderful to see each of these communities organising busy bees and turning maintenance into social events. LD Total, SW Orchard Builders and Wormall are still completing some repairs and outstanding works including the chook sheds, drainage rectifications and irrigation leaks. These should all be completed by 16 December 2022.

Chad and Nicola have also completed a thorough inspection of the trees and planting to instruct a replacement list, for which LD Total is currently sourcing suitable stock. We are hopeful this can all occur prior to Christmas while their crews are on site planting out Clusters 2A and 2B.
